Summer Interns to Present Research on Syrian Refugee Debate, the Opioid Crisis and Pro-Life Legislation
– Rep. Scott Petri (R-Bucks) is inviting the public to attend a presentation by student interns who worked in his district office over the summer, and have conducted research on issues of importance to the interns and residents.
“Each summer, I am fortunate to enlist the help of a small group of college and high school interns from my district to assist me with legislative research and constituent services,” said Petri. “During their internship, these young volunteers have an opportunity to learn about issues that affect people in their own communities. At the conclusion of their internship, I ask them to prepare a presentation on a single research topic of their choosing and share it with the public.”
The students will offer their presentations on Thursday, Aug. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Village Library of Wrightstown, 727 Penns Park Road in Wrightstown
They are covering such timely and interesting topics as the Syrian refugee debate, the opioid crisis and pro-life legislation.
“The interns have worked hard researching these important issues and I look forward to their presentations. I encourage that residents to attend so that they can meet these bright future leaders,” Petri said. “They are covering such timely and interesting topics as the Syrian refugee debate, the opioid crisis and pro-life legislation.”
Student presenters will be Sean Burke and Anthony DePietto from Council Rock High School South, and Daniel Saltzman from the University of Pittsburgh.
