Pennsylvania Bio Releases Plan to Make Commonwealth a Global Leader in Life Sciences Industry, Petri Says

At a Capitol news conference, Petri told of the progress being made to establish Pennsylvania as a global leader in the life sciences industry. Pennsylvania Bio President Chris Molineaux (center) released a report that provides a blueprint for future growth and job creation. 
 
HARRISBURG – At a Capitol news conference, Rep. Scott Petri (R-Bucks), chairman of the House Life Sciences Caucus, praised a report released Tuesday by Pennsylvania Bio that will provide a roadmap for the growth and development of the life sciences industry in Pennsylvania, and bring high-paying jobs and a much-needed boost to Pennsylvania’s economy.

Pennsylvania Bio, based in Wayne, represents medical device companies, pharmaceutical companies, investment organizations, academic institutions, and service industries that support the life sciences.

Chris Molineaux, president of Pennsylvania Bio, credited Petri for his early and consistent support of the life sciences in Pennsylvania, for bringing key government stakeholders together to attract life sciences companies to Commonwealth, and for his determination to see Pennsylvania become a global leader in the life sciences industry.

Pennsylvania’s life sciences industry directly employs more than 79.000 Pennsylvanians in family-sustaining jobs, and as many as 500,000 in supporting fields. Molineaux and Petri agree that the biosciences industry has and will continue to be a key economic driver for the Commonwealth.

Pennsylvania Bio recently named Petri as its “State Public Official of the Year” for his forward thinking and contributions to the continued growth and development of Pennsylvania’s life sciences industry.
